Today’s writing inspiration – for NaNoWriMo entrants and for writers of all persuasions – is a photo I took of the beach in Oriental Bay, Wellington, one sunny weekend in October.
To me it’s inspiring because, just ten years ago, this beach didn’t exist. It was made with the help of 30,000 tons of sand brought in from Golden Bay in the South Island, held back with artificial reefs that sit a little way out in the bay. A symbol of our imagination – and of the way, given sufficient effort, we can bring that imagination to reality. Something to inspire all writers.
