The obscure word of the week is lour

If you’re looking for a really obscure English word, try lour.

It’s from Middle English and means variously either a scowl – ‘he made a lour’; or a threatening appearance in the sky – ‘the clouds loured’.

I keep wanting to put an ‘f’ in front of lour, but that’s a different word altogether.

Your challenge? Use today’s obscure word in a sentence, down in the comments.
