The obscure word of the week is caubeen

This week’s obscure English word is caubeen.

It’s derived from Ireland and means ‘old hat’ – but the word itself was used to describe a style of hat since adopted as army wear.

Your challenge: write a sentence or two in the comments, perhaps without the alliteration, using this word.
