The obscure word of the week is ecdysis

This week’s obscure English word is ecdysis. It means the act of escape, and is usually a scientific term, in context of an insect or crustacean shedding its outer layer. But it could, perhaps, be used in other ways. Here’s my take, with apologies to Commando Comics or some similar genre:

[Scene: bunk room, Colditz castle, 1943]

Colonel Cadwallader Fwah-Fwah Hyphen Hyphen: Righto chaps, the Ecdysis Committee is in session, what!

Obergefreiter Hans Flauschige von Biertrinkerrülpsen [at secret listening post]: Was ist dieses word?

Soldat Fritz von Nasenpflücker: Ich weiß nicht. Könnte ‘Donaudampfschifffahrtselektrizitätenhauptbetriebswerkbauunterbeamtengesellschaft’?

Your challenge: write a sentence or two in the comments using this word – either the English one, or the German one about steam-boat management offices.
