The obscure word of the week is fisc

This week’s obscure English word is fisc. It is an older word meaning a state or royal treasury, derived from the Latin fiscus. The more common term ‘fiscal’, as in government spending policy, is related to it.

Your challenge: write a sentence or two in the comments using this word.

    1. No – too difficult! Of course, others may wish to take up that challenge… (Apologies for the delay replying – my time on social media has had to take second place to other priorities of late).

  1. Thankfully the treasury wasn’t impacted by the current and sudden volatility in the frisbee golf supply shortage… thought it did lead astray some MPs missing votes: Brisk, frisky disc risk misses fisc, whisks bisques amiss.
