The obscure word of the week is ganger

This week’s obscure English word is ganger. It’s an obsolete term that means the person in charge of a working gang.

Your challenge: write a sentence or two in the comments using this word.

  1. The term “work gang” is sort of old fashioned now, isn’t it? So “ganger” might be a good word for someone who belongs to a criminal gang, as these are still around. “Gang member” sounds too genteel.
